This page is every ingredient in every Dip formula, by name, with what it is and why it is there. Most brands legally tuck dozens of chemicals behind the single word “fragrance”. You cannot make a healthy choice about something you cannot see, so we publish the lot, and we tell you when an ingredient is a trade-off as well as when it is a triumph.

Compliant is not the same as healthy. The difference is checkable: every ingredient of every formula, by name, with what it is and why it is there.

Three formulas share this page. Fresh Linen is the scented one, Fragrance Free is that same formula with the fragrance left out, and Extra Sensitive is its own formula with no fragrance and no enzymes.

Sulfuric Acid, mono-C12-14-alkyl esters, Sodium Salts Sulfuric Acid, mono-C12-14-alkyl esters, Sodium SaltsThe main cleaning agent, and the one doing most of the lifting.It surrounds oil and grime so water can carry them off fabric. Polyvinyl alcohol Polyvinyl alcoholThe film that is the sheet itself, a water-soluble polymer.It holds a measured dose in dry form, then dissolves in the wash and releases everything else on this list. Glycerin GlycerinA humectant, the same ingredient skincare reaches for to hold moisture.It keeps every sheet flexible so it dissolves evenly, and softens the feel of the wash on skin and fabric.In: all three laundry formulas
Trisodium Citrate Trisodium CitrateA water softener made from citric acid, the salt that gives citrus its bite.It stops limescale greying wash loads, and it is what we use instead of phosphates and phosphonates. It breaks down readily. You will see it written as Sodium Citrate or Trisodium Citrate Dihydrate on some lists: same salt.In: all three laundry formulas
PEG-9 dimethicone PEG-9 dimethiconeA silicone and polyether hybrid, used at a low level.It keeps foam under control in the drum. Modern machines are built for low suds, and this is what lets a sheet wash properly without a door full of bubbles.In: Fresh Linen and Fragrance Free

Saponins SaponinsFoaming cleansers that occur in plants such as the soap-bark tree.They lift everyday grime without harsh solvents, and they help the sheet dissolve fully in the drum, leaving nothing behind.In: Extra Sensitive

Fresh Linen Fragrance Fresh Linen FragranceLine-dried cotton, soft white florals and a low note of warmth.On most labels every component above would be one word. “Fragrance”, or “parfum”, is a legal black box: a single entry that can stand for a blend of 50 to 200 or more individual chemicals, with no requirement to name any of them. We publish ours in full instead, so you can look anything up before it comes near your home.

Before any component earns its place we check it against the European Chemicals Agency's published lists of endocrine disruptors, CMR substances (carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction) and Substances of Very High Concern, and we do not use any that are known endocrine disruptors. This is our own ingredient-by-ingredient checking process against ECHA's published lists, not an ECHA endorsement, and we re-check whenever those lists change.

We design these sheets for sensitive skin, but no formula can guarantee nobody reacts. Read the list before using a new product and test on a single item first, particularly if you have reason to be cautious or you are washing children's clothes.

Why we cut itThey do not clean anything. They coat fibres with a UV-reactive layer that makes fabric look whiter, and that layer transfers to skin.

Why we cut itChlorine-based bleach is a respiratory and skin irritant, and it is the main reason tablet packets carry warning symbols. It is also why they win on tea stains. That is a trade we will not make.

In Dip insteadAn enzyme and plant-surfactant formula. Run an occasional hotter cycle for tannin marks.

Phosphates and phosphonatesthe water-softeners rivers paid forWaterway pollutants

Usually found inPhosphates in older formulas, restricted in the EU since 2017; phosphonates in most modern “phosphate-free” tablets

Why we cut itPhosphates feed the algal blooms that suffocate rivers and lakes, which is why the EU capped them. The industry’s replacement, phosphonates, dodges the cap but biodegrades poorly and persists in waterways instead.

In Dip insteadPlant-derived cleansers that rinse away and break down readily. The one exception is our fabric conditioner, where an emulsifier from this class is what makes the softening active disperse: it is on that product’s list above, and it never touches anything you eat off.

Why we cut itA by-product of a common manufacturing shortcut, tracked by regulators as a contaminant. It never appears on a label because it is not an ingredient, it is a residue.
