The three laundry formulas

What Extra Sensitive means

Fresh Linen is the standard sheet, with fragrance.

Fragrance Free is the same formula with the fragrance left out.

Extra Sensitive is a different formula, built for the most reactive skin in the house: no fragrance, no enzymes, and its own cleansing ingredients, chosen for being kind to skin.

It is the sheet our customers with very sensitive skin most often switch to, and the one we point to for baby clothes.

Our laundry sheets are skin-irritation tested to OECD TG439, never on animals.

If it is only the scent you want to avoid, Fragrance Free does it. For skin that reacts to more than fragrance, choose Extra Sensitive.

    Allergen information

Every ingredient is published in full above. No cleaning product can promise it will suit everyone. If you have known allergies, or you’ll be using a sheet for hand washing, read the ingredient list above and patch-test first.

    FAQs
How do I use the sheets?

Tear along the perforation; each torn sheet is one wash. Fold it into the detergent drawer, close it as normal and run your usual cycle. For heavily soiled loads, use a full untorn sheet.

Does the sheet go in the detergent drawer or the cutlery basket?

The detergent drawer, folded to fit. It dissolves completely, and the drawer releases it at the right point in the cycle: most machines run a short pre-rinse first, and anything loose in the machine gets used up and drained away before the main wash begins. If your machine has no drawer, the bottom of the machine works on cycles without a pre-rinse.

Will they remove tea and coffee stains?

Honest answer: stubborn tannin stains, tea especially, are the one place bleach-based premium tabs still have the edge, because we don’t use chlorine bleach. A hotter, longer cycle shifts most marks, and a 20-minute soak in hot water followed by a rub with a bicarb paste resets a stained mug. Everything else, from grease to baked-on food, Dip handles cycle after cycle.

Do they clean as well as premium tablets?

On everyday loads, yes. On heavy tannin staining, see the answer above. We’d rather tell you that here than have you find out in a bad wash. The trade is a formula without chlorine bleach, alcohol ethoxylates or dyes, in packaging without plastic.

Do I still need rinse aid and salt?

For the best shine in hard-water areas, yes. Keep your salt topped up. If you use a rinse aid, we’d suggest a plant-based or citric-acid one: most conventional rinse aids are built on alcohol ethoxylates, the ingredient class we deliberately leave out.

Can I use them for hand washing?

Yes. Dissolve a sheet (or a torn piece) in warm water for washing-up, pre-soaking trays, or cleaning the air fryer. One product, most of the kitchen.

I live in a soft-water area. Do I need less?

Probably, yes. Soft water needs roughly half the detergent of hard water, and overdosing there can leave foam and a filmy residue. Tear the sheet smaller, try half, and see what your machine likes. That is the quiet advantage of a sheet: it tears to any dose, where a pod is all or nothing.

    When will my order arrive?

2–4 days from dispatch, UK tracked. Orders over £30 ship free.

How do I pause or cancel?

Two clicks in your account. No fees, no minimum term. The welcome kit is yours to keep.

Can I try them without subscribing?

Yes. Every size has a one-time price (the “One-Time Purchase” link under the button). The welcome kit is a subscriber perk, though.

For anyone saying that tea stains don't come off mugs with these, no they don't, BUT they didn't come off with any other Eco tablet that I ever used in the past either. For that, you just need a toothbrush, dishwashing soap, and a bit of elbow grease.

The sheet and its cleaning agents are OECD 301B certified biodegradable.

    What this means

OECD 301B is the internationally recognised standard for how quickly a substance breaks down in water treatment. Certification means the wash that leaves your machine breaks down quickly, rather than persisting in waterways.

    Checked against ECHA’s lists

    Every formulation

Before any ingredient goes in, we check it against the European Chemicals Agency’s lists of endocrine disruptors, CMR substances and Substances of Very High Concern.

    What this means

ECHA is the EU body that classifies chemicals. CMR stands for carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction. Our checking process excludes ingredients on these lists, and we re-check whenever the lists are updated. This is our own checking process against ECHA’s published lists, not an ECHA endorsement.

    The Cut List

5 ingredients you will never find in Dip

No scare stories. Each one is here for a documented reason, and every card tells you what it is, where it usually turns up, and what we use instead.

Chlorine bleachthe harsh route to white cupsRespiratory irritant

Usually found inMost premium dishwasher tablets and powders

Why we cut itChlorine-based bleach is a respiratory and skin irritant, and it’s the main reason tablet packets carry warning symbols. It’s also why they win on tea stains. That’s a trade we won’t make.

In Dip insteadAn enzyme and plant-surfactant clean; run an occasional hotter cycle for tannin marks.

Alcohol ethoxylatesthe workhorse surfactant with baggageSurfactant class

Usually found inMany dishwasher products and most conventional rinse aids

Why we cut itA surfactant class linked in research to gut-barrier disruption. Residues on “clean” dishes go straight onto food.

In Dip insteadPlant-derived cleansers that rinse away and break down readily.

Phosphates & phosphonatesthe water-softeners rivers paid forWaterway pollutants

Usually found inPhosphates in older formulas, restricted in the EU since 2017; phosphonates in most modern “phosphate-free” tablets

Why we cut itPhosphates feed the algal blooms that suffocate rivers and lakes, which is why the EU capped them. The industry’s replacement, phosphonates, dodges the cap but biodegrades poorly and persists in waterways instead of breaking down.

In Dip insteadTrisodium citrate. It softens the water, protects your glasses from limescale, then breaks down readily.

Artificial dyescolour for colour’s sakeCosmetic additive

Usually found inThe bright gel windows and coloured layers in tablets

Why we cut itDye does nothing for your dishes. It’s there to make the product look like it’s working.

In Dip insteadSheets the colour they come off the press.

    1,4-Dioxanea manufacturing leftoverTrace contaminant

Usually found inTrace contamination in some cheaply made surfactants

Why we cut itA by-product of a common manufacturing shortcut, tracked by regulators as a contaminant. It never appears on labels because it isn’t an ingredient, it’s a residue.

In Dip insteadRaw materials specified with the residue stripped out at source.

I started using dip as I wanted to move away from using chemicals

Yes I have to rinse my dishes before I put them in the dishwasher and yes my cups get stained. However, if I was hand washing my cups in fairy or another washing up liquid, then I would get stained cups anyway.

    I bought the dishwasher sheets

Pretty good results but I would say that some of my pans, particularly those using boiled water to cook ingredients, are left with a chalky residue. I live in a hard water area so am assuming that might be causing this.

Our cups are consistently coming out with tea stains still on them. Initially, I was excited to switch from eco tablets to sheets as a more sustainable option, but after several unsuccessful washes, even using more than one sheet to try to improve performance, we've decided to go back to our original tablets.
